Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Assistant to join our team. This position supports the Administrative and Accounting Department in managing day-to-day payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery, recordkeeping, and reporting. Additionally, the Payroll Assistant will provide general accounting and project support to the department.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll and Administration:
Serve as the main point of contact for time, attendance, and payroll inquiries.
Assist in processing payroll and maintaining payroll information.
Ensure the confidentiality and upkeep of payroll records and files.
Understand, interpret, and apply company procedures, regulations, and policies.
Perform data entry and maintain files for payroll-related personnel transactions, such as new hire setup, terminations, payroll deductions, garnishments, etc.
Manage payment and distribution of reporting data related to garnishments and deductions.
Assist with gross to net calculation, audit, and balancing of pay data.
Reconcile all payroll accounts to the general ledger.
Prepare and maintain payroll-related records and reports.
Serve as a designated backup to administer and process payroll.
Research and resolve payroll issues, including retro pay and timecard access.
Assist with preparation and maintenance of accurate payroll records.
Accounting Support
Arrange third-party authorizations as needed.
Project Support
Support project management, including preparation of documents and follow-up on timeliness and deliverables related to annual audits.
Other Duties
Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Compensation.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in administrative, payroll, and office support in a high-energy office environment.
Experience with database management and accounting payroll software.
Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with all data and sensitive materials.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Ability to meet assigned deadlines and work under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information
This is a remote position, but occasional travel may be required.
The position is fixed-term with an expected end date on or before December 20, 2024.
Salary starts at $34,520 and includes medical insurance and a 401(k) with employer contribution.
