Location:
Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Director of Operations Planning to join our dedicated Operations team in this remote position. This position works primarily remote (90%) with ad hoc needs to visit our US sites. Qualified candidates will be based in the continental U.S. and be comfortable working Eastern standard hours. Preference given to candidates within a 2-hour drive to Albany, NY.

The Pay Range: $150,000 – $160,000. Exact annual base salary may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

The Role:

The Director of Operations Planning will work to strengthen Operations foresight by developing detailed plans that optimize alignment among different areas in Operations, as well as between Operations and other business areas, to maximize execution and achieve expectations of our internal and external customers. The role aims to develop aligned actionable plans that lead to continuous improvement in People, Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Animal welfare.

Core
Responsibilities:

* Develop, implement and manage the SIOP process across the business.
* Ensure optimal communication among Commercial and Operations regarding demand and production commitments.
* Develop and maintain updated operational capacity numbers.
* Develop and manage the capital expenditure (CAPEX) plan and budget across departments.
* Coordinate efforts to develop Operation’s yearly budgets (AOP) and forecast updates.
* Work closely with Commercial Demand stakeholders (sales, marketing, R&D), Procurement, Animal Production and Logistics to align Operation’s resources to optimize the 5Ms: Manpower, Machines, Materials, Minutes (time and schedules), Methods.
* Identify and highlight to Operations Leadership Team any short, mid and long-term resource needs (capacity) based on commercial demand plans and changes.
* Develop and track metrics related to adherence to plans and execution, to improve process accuracy.
* Lead, manage and develop all members of the Operations Planning Team.

Education and Experience:

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or similar field required.
* 10+ years in any area of Industrial Operations / Manufacturing required
* 5+ years leading teams & experience in Change Management required
* 3+ years in S&OP process required
* 3+ years managing Operations / Manufacturing Costs required
* 3+ Years Project management experience required
* Structured and well organized thinking
* Analytical mindset
* Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization

Preferences:

* Master’s degree (M. A.) in industrial engineering or a similar field is desirable.
* APICS certification
* 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain / Logistics highly desirable

Travel: Regular travel is required, generally multiple trips each month.
