Are you passionate about environmental advocacy and eager to make a meaningful impact? Clean Water Action is seeking a dynamic Elections Intern to join our team in Boston for the Fall of 2024. This is a part time temporary paid internship that will provide an impactful experience. This is an incredible opportunity to support our campaigns aimed at electing pro-environment candidates across Massachusetts. As an Elections Intern, you’ll craft compelling content, conduct research on candidates, engage with campaign staff, and immerse yourself in grassroots activism. Responsibilities Writing content for website articles, blog posts, email communications, etc. Researching and compiling information about candidates. Communicating with campaign staff of candidates to obtain information about thecandidate’s position on environmental issues. Assisting in organizing Clean Water Action’s elections committee meetings. Researching and compiling information about campaigns, legislator voting records,candidates’ alignment and looking up information on races and districts. Administrative tasks such as data entry may be assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Passion for protecting human health and the environment. Strong interest in elections work. Strong computer skills (competent in working with Word, Excel, Internet, etc.); Strong communication skills. Attention to detail. Organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong writing skills are a plus. Familiarity with campaign organizing in a variety of racial and socio-economic communities,and/or communications is highly desired. The successful applicant should have access to a computer or laptop and reliable internet access. Applicant must reside in Massachusetts Schedule 6 hours per week commitment for 9 weeks (about 2 months). The position is primarily remote, with work generally scheduled Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. However, occasional in-person meetings or work during evenings and weekends may be required.
